Tasmanian Bush and Beach Retreats offers you the unique opportunity to stay in self contained accommodation nestled in the foothills of Mt Wellington, above Hobart.

Tan-Y-Bryn is a tranquil and comfortable retreat.  The house is set in a beautiful, secluded landscaped garden, yet is only 10 minutes drive to the centre of Hobart.

Licensed to accommodate 7 people; there are 3 double bedrooms (2 with queen and 1 with twin beds) and one single bedroom.

The spacious house is fully furnished and has a well equipped kitchen, large comfortable lounge room, separate dining room, bathroom and 2 toilets.  Downstairs there is a well equipped laundry, additional shower and lock-up garage.

Tan-Y-Bryn is cosy in winter and cool in summer with a ducted reverse-cycle heat pump system.  For your entertainment there are 2 television sets, a VCR/DVD player, an audio and CD player.  Books, games and children’s toys are also on hand.

Breakfast supplies are provided for the first morning and there is complimentary tea and coffee, biscuits and port.  All bedrooms have electric blankets and clock radios and there’s a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Overlooking the garden is an outdoor eating area which includes a gas barbeque and seating for al fresco dining.  The garden is fenced and private and includes peaceful seating areas ideal for contemplation.  Exotic and endemic species blend in harmony, producing a riot of colour in spring and summer.  Water features, mature eucalypts, huon pine, waratah and banksias attract native birds to the garden.

Tan-Y-Bryn is situated at the eastern boundary of the Wellington Park, Hobart’s largest flora and fauna reserve.  On the doorstep is a choice of mountain walking tracks suitable for all age groups, providing access to the mountain’s waterfalls, rainforest, fern glades and alpine areas.

Together with its tranquil setting, Tan-Y- Bryn, offers very easy access to all that Hobart has to offer.  Delightful waterfront cafés and restaurants, art and craft shops, famous Salamanca market, galleries and many historic buildings are all an easy ten minute drive away.  Day tours to the Huon Valley, Derwent Valley and Port Arthur are all within easy reach, returning to warmth, comfort, peace and privacy at the end of the day.
